About the Client

LumApps is an employee experience platform that engages every employee with personalised communications, regardless of location or language, and empowers them to do their best work.

The Brief

The team at LumApps reached out for support with writing a series of best practices eBooks, leveraging notes and feedback collected during customer workshops. They also wanted support with writing some articles for their blog.

The Work

After successfully producing a couple of blog articles for LumApps, it was time to start work on our first eBook. Since each of these would follow a similar format and style, we decided to focus on getting this right from the start.

My contact at LumApps scheduled group Zoom calls to brief me on the topics and specific features I’d be covering in each eBook. This was my first time jumping on a client call with a French-based team — who occasionally spoke in French to one another during said call (good thing I’m well practiced at smiling, nodding, and figuring out the details later 😅).

Each eBook led into the topic with some background info or research on why that particular feature matters (often in the context of major changes in workplaces and technology). Throughout each eBook, I included relevant customer stories (mostly short versions of existing case studies), use cases, and best practices. The goal was for the final designed eBook to be visually engaging – so I laid out the copy using shapes, tables, icons, and stock images to help break up the content (ready for the graphic designer to properly design and produce).
